Using the Insert/Edit Link

Linking is easy.  In this lesson you will learn how to link web pages to words, phrases, or pictures.  This tool does not work until you have selected (highlighted) a word, phrase or picture that you want to link.  Once you have selected something the tool will go from a grey to a blue world with the chain underneath connected.

Once you have selected something to link click on the Insert/Edit Link button.  It will take you to the following screen.

This is where you type in the page you want to link to under URL type in www . and the page address . com, net, etc.  Once you have typed in the address click on the target tab, and it will take you to the following screen.

From the drop down file select New Window( blank), this will cause the page to open on your website, so you can keep the user on  your pages.  Now you can click on OK.

Your page is now linked.

Remove Link

This part of the lesson will show you how to remove a link, and it will be one of the simplest things you can do.  Let's say you need to remove a link (page no longer available, page no longer of value to you, or whatever reason).  Now you need to select the linked word, phrase, or picture, and both the worlds will become blue.  Click on the blue world with the broken chain under it, this is the remove link button, and it will immediately remove the link.

End of lesson.
