5 Standard Tools

This lesson explains tools that most of you are all ready using.  The only thing which might be different is what the icon for the tools look like.  This should be a very easy lesson.

Find

This icon looks like a set of binoculars.  When you click on it you will be taken to the following screen.

Type in the word you are looking for in the Find what field.  It will take you to the first place in the text where the word appears.  Everytime you click on find it will take you to the next location where that word appears, until you get to the last word, or you click on Cancel.  If you want to look for a word at the beginning of a paragraph you will want to type in the word with the first letter capitalized, and then check the box next to Match case.  Let,s say you want to find a word like picture, but you know the article also contains other forms of the word, like pictures.  You should check the box next to Match whole word, and it will only take you to picture, and skip any other forms of the word.

Preview

This icon looks like a sheet of paper with a magnifying glass on it.  When you click on this it will show you how you page will look Online.

Print

This icon looks like a printer,  When you click on it you will be taken to your printer control screen.

Save

This icon looks like a floppy disk.  In the Article Manager this function does not work, it will cause you to loose your text.  On the web page editor it works the same as the Click to save changes bar.  Before using this it would be best to back up your work.  Click on the Source, and select all (ctrl A), copy, and paste into a notebook page.

Select All

This icon looks like a square with lines in a text box.  Click on this and it will selecting everything in the editing screen.  This does not work when you are looking at the page using the source function.

End of lesson.
